The Inflammasome Lab has recently had a UQ News article published online to briefly explain the NLRP3 inflammasome, a protein complex that drives inflammation. This article is in response to the Science Signalling article, authored by Jared Coomb et al, titled "NLRP12 interacts with NLRP3 to block the activation of the human NLRP3 inflammasome".
