Kristina joined the Inflammasome Lab as an Administration Assistant in 2019. She completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in environmental biology at UQ and has since realised that her strengths lie in organisation and research facilitation. These strengths have led her to the field of administration. In 2011, Kristina commenced her role as Research Assistant at UQ which involved administration at the group level. This position exposed her to the administrative load researchers face, which she was very happy to help alleviate. Kristina was then appointed as the centre Administrative Officer in 2016 at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences, which required knowledge of many University processes including executive support, higher degree research, human resources and finance. Now, Kristina works with the Inflammasome Lab to facilitate research administration, enabling researchers greater efficiency in travelling the road to scientific discovery.
"Researchers should focus on research, not administration.”
