Congratulations, Grace, on your PhD conferral!

Grace Lawrence's PhD was conferred this week! Her thesis is titled "Mitochondrial Dynamics and the NLRP3 Inflammasome". A huge congratulations on officially becoming a doctor!

During her PhD, Grace published two articles as first author, "Parkinson's disease: connecting mitochondria to inflammasomes" in Trends in Immunology, and "Come on mtDNA, light my fire" in Immunity. Grace also organised many parts of the lab while conducting her PhD research, which is truly appreciated!

Congratulations are also extended to Grace's IMB co-supervisors and mentors, Kate Schroder, Caroline Holley (Inflammasome lab alumna) and Matt Sweet.

Grace is continuing in the Inflammasome lab as a postdoctoral researcher, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds!

ABOUT Inflammasome Lab

Inflammasome Lab is a group of researchers led by Prof Kate Schroder at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland.
We seek to unravel the secrets of inflammasomes – protein complexes at the heart of inflammation and disease – to allow for new therapies to fight human diseases.
