Congratulations to Stefan Emming!

Congratulations to Inflammasome Lab postdoctoral researcher, Stefan Emming, whose PhD research was honoured with the Università della Svizzera italiana prize for the best original publication in 2020.

Stefan performed his PhD research in Dr. Silvia Monticelli's lab at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Switzerland. His PhD thesis focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that cause pathological proinflammatory phenotypes in human T lymphocytes in diseases such as multiple sclerosis. His award-winning research, published in Nature Immunology, was entitled A molecular network regulating the proinflammatory phenotype of human memory T lymphocytes.

ABOUT Inflammasome Lab

Inflammasome Lab is a group of researchers led by Prof Kate Schroder at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland.
We seek to unravel the secrets of inflammasomes – protein complexes at the heart of inflammation and disease – to allow for new therapies to fight human diseases.
